Please Help! I Need Your Letters, Again!

August 15, 2010

Dear family, friends, and supporters,

Once again, I am in need of your letters of support for parole release. Please!

I am now pleading to the Division of Parole here in New York. I have been informed that I have earned ‘Limited Credit Time Allowance,’ (LCTA). I am scheduled to appear before the board of parole on September 1, 2010, in consideration for release SIX MONTHS EARLY!

I was informed today by my parole officer. He prefers that letters of support are sent to me, and I will forward the letters to him. It is such short notice! But I do remain hopeful. The Honorable Supreme Court Judge, Arthur J. Cooperman (Ret.) has sent a letter, which I will post here, to the parole board on my behalf. So I will present myself in the most positive manner and hope for the best. Life and freedom depend on me to shine.

Please send your letters, even as priority or overnight mail, to:

Mona Graves 88G0305
Bayview Correctional Facility

NY, NY 10011-2820

I have also learned that in my plea for clemency last year, the governor recieved 371 letters, asking for my release, numerous legal documents submitted on my behalf, and several county-wide petitions, each with hundreds of signatures. I cannot begin to tell all of you how grateful I am for your support. It is actually a bit overwhelming, knowing that so many people have made such positive efforts to help obtain my freedom. You will have my deepest and heartfelt thanks for as long as I live. Truly. I love all of you. And when I am free, finally, I will repay you – by telling my story and contributing to our community, especially the education of our young people in regard to the dangers of drugs, and the importance of being a responsible and caring person.

Thank you – all of you,
Mona Graves
